Gujarat: Surat city reports 209 fresh Covid-19 cases, 7 deaths

Surat reported 209 fresh cases of Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the city's tally to 11399. The city also witnessed seven coronavirus-related deaths that pushed the toll to 504.

SURAT: Surat reported 209 fresh cases of Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the city's tally to 11399. The city also witnessed seven coronavirus-related deaths that pushed the toll to 504.
"City's posh Athwa zone reported highest Covid-19 cases at 50 followed by 38 in Rander,30 in Katargam, 23 in Udhan, 20 in Varachha (A) and 17 in Central Zone," Surat Municipal Corporation officials said.

SMC's enforcement team also collected Rs 38,323 as penalty from 165 people for not wearing mask, not following social distancing and not keeping hand sanitizers at shops on Sunday. SMC has so far collected Rs 1.01 crore as penalty from people till now.
Meanwhile, Surat rural reported 28 fresh Covid-19 cases and five deaths during the past 24 hours.
On Sunday, 189 Covid-19 patients were also discharged from various hospitals in the city.
