Surat: Courier man killed for affair with girl

SURAT: A 23-year-old courier delivery man was stabbed to death by a man who was bitterly against the victim’s friendship with his sister.
Police detained the accused Ganesh Chitte, who had allegedly killed Kapil Sirsath in Dindoli area on Saturday. The fatal assault was captured in the CCTV camera installed nearby which this helped the police identify the accused.
Police are also trying to trace his two associates.
Investigation so far revealed that Sirsath had been friends with Chitte’s sister for the past last one year as their families lived in the same residential society. Chitte and his family did not approve of their friendship and had warned Sirsath to stay away from the girl. However, the duo continued their friendship.
When Sirsath was out for some work, Chitte attacked him near Sai Nagar on the public road. There was no traffic movement when he was attacked him. The accused stabbed multiple times which led to Sirsath’s death on the spot.
“The prime accused has been detained and he will be arrested after Covid-19 test,” said police.
