TAPI Utsav enthrals Surtis, brings culture alive

SURAT: The five-day TAPI Utsav at Science Centre in the city has brought alive art, craft, music, dance and cinema of the diamond city with artistes from all walks of life interacting with participants. The festival began on Wednesday and is scheduled to run till March 1.
TAPI stands for The Art Promotion Initiatives and is a biannual event.
TAPI Utsav was conceptualised in 2014 and since then has become city’s festival identifying with quality-oriented cultural activities on a single platform.
This year, TAPI Utsav, which has been christened as TU2020, is organised by the joint effort of the trust, a core group , students and support from like minded individuals and industrialists and entries are free and open for all.
“Besides talks and film screenings, various workshops like Blue Printing nature art, watercolour technique, paper pulp casting, origami, POP carving, 3D sculpture, Photography, Molela, Acrylic demonstration, Wooden Toy and Wood cut have been a major attractions,’’ said Binita Pandya, one of the organisers of TAPI Utsav told TOI.
