Thane: Man held for robbery at late actor's bungalow

THANE : The crime branch has arrested a man for breaking into the bungalow of late actor Nutan and taking away taps fixed inside the bungalow last week.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Bhandari, a resident of Bhaskar Nagar in Kalwa. Two of his accomplices are on the run, said a police officer.
The police said around 1 am on February 6, the trio attacked the two security guards posted at the bungalow and fled with the taps.Assistant police inspector, crime branch unit-1, Sandeep Bagul, said the accused climbed the roof, removed the tiles and gained entry to the rooms. An offence under the Indian Penal Code was registered against the unidentified accused then with the Mumbra police station.- Nishikant Karlikar
