THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Realising the promise of economic reservation for forward classes offered by the LDF government last year, Travancore Devaswom Board will publish the first probability list of candidates for the vacancy of LD clerk/sub officer grade II post on Friday. A total of 183 candidates are included in the probability list and 173 candidates in the supplementary list.
As many as 18 and 17 candidates of the respective lists will be from economically weaker sections.
The state government decided to implement 10% economic reservation to general category in devaswom board appointment in November 2018 and the Kerala devaswom recruitment board decided to implement it in the latest recruitment procedure. The examination for the vacancy was held on June 8.
According to board chairman M Rajagopalan Nair, it follows an unbiased recruitment procedure and economic reservation was included in the probability list after much legal struggle. "LD clerk is a much sought after vacancy in TDB and. It is the first time that 10% reservation for the unreserved communities has been implemented in the state," he said.
There were 1,43,587 applications and 85,173 candidates appeared for the examination. The rank list will be published after verification of caste, creamy layer and income certificates of candidates.
