Thiruvananthapuram: Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar has said both the government and board are committed to abide by the Supreme Court verdict on review petitions filed in Sabarimala case. “Whatever may be the verdict, everyone should accept it with diligence and peace. All believers should accept the verdict of the apex court and there should not be any kind of unrest against the verdict,” he said.
“Both the government and TDB are constitutional bodies and hence, they have the responsibility to accept the verdict of the apex court.
All the board members and ministers are sworn under the Constitution. Hence, they are constitutionally-bound to accept and execute the verdict. The only difference is that the board members are also committed in protecting the beliefs and rituals of the temples under the board, he added.
He said there were several accusations against him and the board after the SC verdict allowing women entry into Sabarimala.
