Crime branch arrests two for smuggling SIM card inside Vadodara central jail

VADODARA: The detection of crime branch (DCB) has arrested two men for conspiring to smuggle SIM cards inside the central jail.
The police said that the duo had planned to bring SIM card inside the jail and hand it over to a prisoner.
Investigations revealed that 22-year-old Shahrukh Sindhi had smuggled the SIM inside the jail.
Sindhi’s father is often called in the jail premises for chopping off trees.
He hid the SIM in his undergarments and took it in the jail where Sindhi handed it over to Sajid Ali Saiyad.
The police have been investigating the racket of smuggling SIM cards inside the jail over last few days. It has recovered several SIM cards and phones from the jail premises.
