Gujarat: Woman from Borsad found murdered in Brampton city

A 28-year-old woman from Borsad taluka in Anand district was found dead on Thursday under suspicious conditions in Brampton city of Canada. The police is looking for the husband of the deceased who is also from a village in the same taluka.

VADODARA: A 28-year-old woman from Borsad taluka in Anand district was found dead on Thursday under suspicious conditions in Brampton city of Canada. The police is looking for the husband of the deceased who is also from a village in the same taluka.
The deceased Heeral Patel from Pamol village in Borsad taluka was married to Rakesh Patel from Kinkhlod village in the same taluka in 2013.
She had settled in Canada with her in-laws. Her brother Vinay Patel and a cousin were also living in Canada.
Heeral was having strained relations with her husband and in-laws off late. The couple eventually decided filed for divorce and the formalities for ending the marriage started couple of months back, said Heeral’s uncle, whose name is also Rakesh Patel.
Heeral had gone missing on January 11 and the Toronto police started looking for her. According to the police, she was last seen on January 11 at 11pm local time. An elaborate search was launched to locate her.
The body of the missing woman was eventually found by Peel Regional Police from Brampton. It was located in a green space in the area of Nexus Avenue and Fogal Road. The Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau of the Peel Regional Police have started investigations in the case.
Heeral’s uncle said that it had come to light that the body had injury marks on it. He added that a relative of her husband based in the USA had once threatened that he could get her killed.
The police considers her husband as prime suspect in the case and have asked him to surrender. The body will be cremated in Canada itself, said relatives of the deceased.
The deceased’s brother Vinay was on a visit to their village, but had to rush back in wake of the incident.
