Maharaja Exp passengers welcomed on Shivratri
Varanasi: Foreign tourists travelling in Maharaja Express were accorded a warm welcome on their arrival at Varanasi station on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival on Friday.
As many as 65 foreigners and some domestic tourists reached Varanasi in the luxury train. The assistant director India Tourism Amit Kumar Gupta said that the district administration made arrangements for the convenience of the visiting guests.
The people of travel associations including Abhishek Singh, Anand Srivastava and Vishal Singh were present at the railway station to welcome the passengers amid chanting of Vedic mantras. The visitors were also presented flowers and Rudraksh.
After a brief stay at a hotel, the visitors went to Sarnath and reached Dashashwamedh ghat in the evening to witness Ganga aarti. After taking dinner at Darbhanga Ghat they left for their next destination.
