UP: Body of BHU's missing medico found floating in Ganga in Mirzapur

The body of a student of MBBS of Institute of Medical Science Banaras Hindu University Navneet Parashar, who was missing mysteriously from his hostel room since June 9 morning, was found floating in river Ganga near Kolhua Ghat under the limits of Chilh police station in Mirzapur district on Saturday.

VARANASI: The body of a student of MBBS of Institute of Medical Science Banaras Hindu University Navneet Parashar, who was missing mysteriously from his hostel room since June 9 morning, was found floating in river Ganga near Kolhua Ghat under the limits of Chilh police station in Mirzapur district on Saturday.
Confirming the recovery of Parashar’s body, SP Mirzapur Dharmvir Singh said that the team of Vindhyachal police led by inspector Ved Prakash Rai succeeded in detecting his body near Kolhua Ghat after exercising hard for past four days.
With the recovery of body the ASP City Prakash Swaroop Pandey and CO city Sudhir Kumar reached the spot and informed the matter to his family. His father Manoj and other members had left their place in Gopalganj district of Bihar for Mirzapur.
Singh said that following the recovery of motorcycle lying in abandoned condition in forests of Vindhyachal area and its key from the steps of temple Mirzapur cops had collected details about the case of missing lodged with Lanka police in Varanasi. After it several teams were formed to search this medico.
When the CCTV footages of Vindhyachal temple were checked Parashar was noticed moving between closed temple and ghat along river Ganga in wet clothes between 1.35 pm and 1.35 pm on June 9. Singh said that police teams were continuously searching for Parashar in forests of Vindhyachal and also riverside.
On June 9, a case of missing was lodged in this connection with Lanka police in Varanasi after getting complaint from hostel inmates. Police said that Parashar, a native of Gopalganj in Bihar and 2015 batch student, who was doing internship, had collected all photographs of deities from the walls of his room and left his mobile phone there before leaving room on his motorcycle.
Police said that he had also went missing for over a week last year, when he had spent time in Sarnath, but returned himself.
