Did you know Sushmita Sen refused to lip-sync suggestive lyrics for the song ‘Mehboob Mere’ in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Fiza’?

Sushmita Sen is one of the finest actresses we have in Bollywood. She is also one actress who has never compromised on her ethics in the line of her work. So much so that she once refused to lip-sync for a song because it had suggestive lyrics in them.
Yes, you read it right! Sushmita reportedly refused to shoot for the blockbuster song, ‘Mehboob Mere’ from Hrithik Roshan and Karisma Kapoor starrer ‘Fiza’ because it had suggestive lyrics.Choreographer Ganesh Hegde reportedly told a news portal that there was a line that went ‘aa garmi le mere seene se (come feel the heat of my bosom)’ and she refused to sing it. The composer of the song, Anu Malik, had to change the lines to ‘aa narmi le mere aankhon se (bask in the softness of my eyes)’. According to him, back in the time it was unheard of to command and extract that kind of respect.

Spilling more beans on Sushmita Sen, Ganesh also added that Sushmita was one actress in Bollywood who owned the screen and stage whenever she performed. Recalling an incident, he said that the first time that he choreographed her for a stage performance, he let her dance alone on the stage to Sting’s Desert Rose and although it’s a gamble to let an actress dance solo on a massive stage he knew Sushmita could hold the stage down all by herself.

Sushmita is currently self-quarantined at home with her family due to coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. She is also often seen sharing pictures and videos of herself and her loved ones with her fans on social media.
