Exclusive! Manmeet Gulzar of ‘Meet Bros’ fame on being self-quarantined: There is a board outside my house that says, ‘Self-isolation’
Manmeet Gulzar of ‘Meet Bros’ fame is leaving no stone unturned to keep himself and his family safe. Right from following social isolation strictly from day one to stocking up essentials at his place to making sure studies of her daughter are not interrupted; the singer-songwriter is doing it all. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Manmeet opens up about his strategy to cope up with self-quarantine during coronavirus pandemic and more.

Speaking about widespread pandemic, he said, “It is just a sign, a message and learning for all of us that never be too sure about anything in life. Anything can happen to anyone of us. Both my brother and I have been quarantined at home. The biggest learning from this is that there are no loopholes. When we are saying we are self-isolated, what we have done is that we have stocked our homes with medicines, essentials, food for a month now and there are no deliveries happening now. There is a board outside my house that says, ‘Self-isolated’ which means that we are not accepting any deliveries. We are not ordering anything.”

Even before the 21-days lockdown was announced, the musician said he had stocked up his house with essentials for a month. “We made a list of what we will require for a month. Our mother lives with us. Harmeet and his family too are not coming to meet us nor are we going there. Now, we are in the complete quarantine zone. We are not stepping out. We are not letting anybody come home. There is nobody ringing our bell, knocking on our door,” he added.

Talking about message he would love to give his fans out there, he averred, “These are not the times where you have to show that you are brave. This is the time to quietly sit at home and break the chain. So far we Indian have done great. We have the least number of cases in our country, even though we have the largest density of population. Now if we are able to break the chain and sit at home, we might be able to win it.”
Elaborating further, he added, “There is no maid coming to our house. We family together are doing household chores like mopping the floor and dusting the house. We have never done it before and we love it as a family. We are having a great time doing that. I have been working out with Youtube videos on with my wife and daughter and it is so much fun.”
“I think it is God’s way to put us in a house where we can spend some time and sharing moments that we never did because of something or the other happening in our lives. And the last time I checked the Mumbai air condition, it didn’t say it is unhealthy. It said mostly clear. It is such a lovely sight. So I think it is God’s way of sanitizing the world. We too need to give rest to the nature. For some days, weeks months, stay at home and enjoy with your family and play board-games with them and have a good time,” he concluded.
