Ever since her big
Bollywood debut with ‘Dhadak’, there has been no looking back for Janhvi Kapoor. The young star kid has been on a roll with some pretty interesting projects in her kitty. Apart from her upcoming commercial films, the young Diva has also bagged
Karan Johar’s upcoming period drama, ‘
Takht’.
Speaking about the same, she reportedly said although she is yet to start full-fledged prep for the movie, she also added that when she signed the film, she immediately started learning
kathak and
Urdu.
Although she knew she’ll shoot it almost a year later, she has been very fascinated by this era.
Talking about doing a period drama like ‘Takht’ at such early stage of her career, she added that period films are something that might come more naturally to her than contemporary roles because she has subscribed to that cinema more. She also averred that she prefers watching older films like, ‘Mughal-E-Azam’, ‘Pakeezah’, ‘Umrao Jaan’ and others and she can relate to them.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she is currently shooting for ‘
Dostana 2’ where she will co-star with
Kartik Aaryan and Lakshya. She will also be seen sharing screen space with
Rajkummar Rao in ‘RoohiAfza’.
Janhvi will also be seen in ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. The first look posters of the movie has already garnered appreciations from the audience and critics alike.
