Deepika Padukone, who returned to Mumbai last night after visiting the Jawaharlal Nehru University to support the students protest against the violence in the campus saw a gala of Bollywood celebs coming forward and hailing her actions.
While pictures and videos of the same have surfaced over the internet and gone viral within no time, Kabir Khan, who is the director of her upcoming film '83' was all praise for Deepika.
In a recent interview, he revealed how proud he felt about knowing a person like Deepika. Not only that he even praised her actions and even shared his connection with JNU.
Furthermore, the ace director even shared his views on how people started the hashtag #BoycottChhapaak. Terming such actions as bad, Kabir addressed Deepika as the biggest star of the industry and urged the audience to come out in her support so that he motivates other stars as well to come out in open and take a stand.
Meanwhile, for the unversed, a group of masked miscreants entered the campus and attacked the students as well as teachers on Sunday evening.
Deepika will be essaying the role of the acid attack survivor Meghna Gulzar's 'Chhapaak' which also stars Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role. Apart from that, Deepika and Ranveer Singh will be seen in Kabir's sports drama '83' together for the first time post their marriage.
