Legendary actor Dr Shreeram Lagoo passes away: Take a look at his popular films

Legendary actor Dr Shreeram Lagoo was one of the most talented actors who worked in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati films. The actor passed away on December 17 in Pune.
Bollywood celebs like Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Ashoke Pandit and more took to their social media accounts to mourn the demise of the actor. His last rites will be held on Thursday.
Before becoming an actor he did MBBS, MS and practised medicine and surgery in Pune, India and Tabora, Tanzania.He started acting in plays while attending the medical college in Pune.
He played the iconic role of Ganpatrao aka Appasaheb Belwalkar in the play 'Natasamrat', an act he will always be known for! He has worked over 200 films including Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati. However, we take a look at a few films he will be remembered for.
'Gharonda', for which he received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 1978.
He played the role of Professor Gopal Krishna Gokhale in Sir Richard Attenborough's 'Gandhi'.
The essayed the role of a schoolmaster in V. Shantaram's critically acclaimed and loved film 'Pinjra'.
His other Marathi film 'Samna' helmed by Jabbar Patel entered into the 25th Berlin International Film Festival in 1975.
He was also known for Rajesh Khanna's 'Thodisi Bewafai', 'Des Pardes', Amitabh Bachchan's 'Muqadar Ka Sikander', 'Shriman Shrimati', Kamal Haasan's 'Sadma' and more.
