Shahid Kapoor joins the action bandwagon with his next patriotic drama with Karan Johar

Shahid Kapoor is all set to join the action bandwagon with high octane stunt scenes for his next project with Karan Johar. The actor will reunite with Dharma Productions after five years, their last venture being ‘Shaandaar’ in 2015. Revealing deets about the project, a source informed Mumbai Mirror, “It has patriotic undertones and will be directed by a debutant. Shahid is a fan of the action genre and is excited about being a part of this film.He needs to bulk up for the part, so the prep will begin a few months before he starts shooting for the film, which is expected to go on the floors in the second half of the year. It is currently in the pre-production stage.”
Shahid was last seen playing a passionate lover boy in 2019’s most talked about film ‘Kabir Singh’. The romantic drama, which was remake of a Telugu film, emerged as one of the biggest hits of Shahid’s career. The actor went on to sign up for yet another South remake.
Shahid has teamed up with Gowtam Tinnanauri, for the remake of his Telugu sports drama ‘Jersey’. The ‘Padmaavat’ actor essayed the role of a cricketer in the film and has extensively prepped for his part. Shahid has recently began shooting for the film, when he was injured during one of the shots. Speaking about the injury a source had earlier informed, “Shahid was playing perfectly fine and rehearsing before the shot, when the ball unexpectedly came and hit him on the lower lip and cut open a wide gash where blood started gushing out!! He was immediately taken for treatment and a doctor was rushed to see him. To close the wound stitches were sutured by the doctor. All this has left the actor with a heavily bruised lower lip, and hence he will not be able to shoot for the film till the swelling subsides and the wound is healed to enable him to emote freely.”
