UP board results 2020 expected by June 3rd week; 96% answer copies evaluated

LUCKNOW: Amidst the protest by teachers resisting to work due to Covid-19 pandemic, the evaluation of UP board class X and XII answer copies is on verge of completion. Together in three zones - orange, green and red - 96% of the answer copies have been corrected. Around 3.1 crore class X and XII answer copies are to be evaluated till May 31.
According to data shared by secondary education department, cent percent evaluation is done in districts identified under green zones.Green zone comprised of 20 districts with 63 evaluation centres. There are 133 evaluation centres in 36 districts covered under the orange zone. Of this, 131 centres in 35 districts have finished off the evaluation exercise.
Minimum answer copies have been corrected in 19 districts which lie under the red zone with high cases of Covid-19. Of the 85 centres, copies have been fully corrected in 37 centres. This is also because evaluation work in red zone kicked off from May 19 in comparison to green and orange zone where correction of answer copies began from May 5 and May 12 respectively.
The pending evaluation work, said officials is to end by May 31, post which the tabulation of results will begin. The class X and XII UP board results is expected to be announced by third week of June.
Deputy chief minister, Dinesh Sharma, who holds the education portfolio has also asked officials to expedite the work so that results can be declared latest by June end, helping students in applying for their next level of education. Around 56 lakh students appeared for the class X and XII exams held in February-March this year.
