PUNE: Sancheti Healthcare Academy held the second edition of creative art therapy awards at Creaticity amphitheater in Pune recently. Film directors R. Balki and Gauri Shinde attended the function.
The awards aim to discover many selfless souls who have dedicated their lives to combining creative art therapies with healthcare to bring real effect in the mental and physical health of people.

The art therapy award was presented to Manju Jain and Getanjali Sarangan. Zhara Poonawala (Dubai) bagged the animal assisted therapy award. Meeta Shah got the music therapy award.
Vijay Bathina received dance movement therapy award followed by Rashi Bunny (drama therapy) and Aparna Prabhudesai (sports and adventure therapy). Sohini Chakraborty received the dance movement therapy life time achievement award.
"These awards aim to discover many selfless souls who have dedicated their lives to combining creative art therapies with healthcare to bring real effect in the mental and physical health of people,"said orthopaedic surgeon Parag Sancheti, chairman and medical director of Sancheti hospital.
Complimenting the initiative, film director Gauri Shinde said," Art is a therapy and therapy is an art for me. The idea of such awards is really a great initiative."

Manisha Sanghavi, executive director, Sancheti Healthcare Academy said, "The mental-emotional health issues are on the rise. In search of better treatment for our patients to make them mentally strong and emotionally stable we deeply embedded ourselves with creative art therapy. This quest further led us to the rich work in therapeutic use of the arts."
Rupal Sancheti, head of branding and digital space said, "The creative art therapy awards defines the work of silent heroes who work tirelessly without even knowing what difference they are making to the society."
