International Baccalaureate (IB) board has decided to promote students of classes X and XII. This is the first time that such a step has been taken by any board but as the crisis is affecting everyone and with exams being cancelled, the board was compelled to take the call. Earlier, private schools decided to promote students till class VIII.
In Jaipur, only a few schools are affiliated with IB board.
Jayshree Periwal International School, Jaipur is one of them. Principal of the school, Jayshree Periwal said, "Since the crisis is global, IB board, which is an international board, has decided to promote the children to further classes. Students are being evaluated on internal assessment marks. This was necessary or else students would have been in trouble."
Other boards are yet to make any decision on it. There has been no notification by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as of now.
