Maharashtra launches 3 channels on JioTV for X, XII online learning

The state school education department launched three educational channels on the JioTV mobile application, and one radio channel on JioSaavn, on Sunday.

MUMBAI: The state school education department launched three educational channels on the JioTV mobile application, and one radio channel on JioSaavn, on Sunday. While the channels will telecast lectures for class XII science and class X English medium, more channels will be added soon for other classes. The lectures will be aired for six hours every day, with repeat telecasts throughout the day.
The department aims to replace physical classes with this initiative, in view of the pandemic.
The Maharashtra State Council for Education Research and Training will soon release the timetable for these lectures. The channels on JioTV will be titled 'Dnyanganga'. and the radio programme 'We learn English'. Students and parents are expected to have Jio mobiles and an internet connection to view the JioTV channels, and a smart phone and an internet connection for the radio channels.
The state had earlier announced their collaboration with JioTV and other platforms for online training.
Varsha Gaikwad, school education minister, said that the classes will be aired 24/7, and that 4.3 crore Jio phone users can access the channels at their own pace. The department is also trying to get access for subscribers from other mobile networks.
