Anand Kumar, celebrated Mathematics teacher and founder of Super 30 is trying to keep the youngsters engage during the COVID-19 lockdown through a question-answer session on Twitter. Once the lockdown is eased, he plans to conduct online classes to teach students from classes VI to XII.
"After an overwhelming response from students to my recent initiative 'Mathematics for Fun' on social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook, has inspired me to start online classes," says Anand Kumar.
He gets close to 1 lakh visit on his social media accounts every day.

He posts one to two Mathematical problems daily and asks students to solve it in various ways. He has more than 3 lakh and 40000 followers on his Facebook page and Twitter, respectively.
He is yet to finalise a date to start the online classes that will be open for all. "We are yet to set up the infrastructure needed to go online for regular classes," he adds.
"The nationwide lockdown due to the spread of the disease has taken a toll on education. An initiative through social media is aimed to keep students engaged and utilise their time to learn different methods to solve a mathematical problem," says Kumar while talking to
Education Times.
Reacting to the responses received from students, Kumar, says that the initiative has also helped him learn new things from students and keeps him mentally active at the times of coronavirus crisis.
"Students from across the world can enrol in the classes by paying a nominal fee," says Kumar who describes his initiative on social media accounts as a demo for his online venture.
Kumar who will offer online classes only for Mathematics may expand it for other subjects with the help of experts in other subjects. Currently, he is planning to deploy a team of experts to provide answers to queries posted or shared by students through email and WhatsApp. He is hopeful of getting a good response from students.
"Students will be encouraged to solve similar mathematical problems in various ways to improve critical thinking to discourage rote learning," he adds. Earlier, he announced to launch a free channel to learn Mathematics in a fun-filled way on YouTube on National Mathematics Day 2020.
