Tamil Nadu 12th results 2020 delayed, re-exam to be on July 27

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu school education department on Wednesday announced that the re-exam for Class XII final exam absentees would be conducted on July 27. In turn, the announcement of Class XII state board results could be pushed to July end as the government has decided to release the results after conducting the re-exam for these students.
The state government has announced that it would conduct re-exam for 34,864 absentees in the final Class XII exam.But it was found that only 671 students were absent for just one exam and the rest of them were absent for all exams.
Earlier, the state government was undecided on whether to hold the re-exam for these students before declaring results or withhold results for absentees. Announcing the re-exam date, school education minister KA Sengottaiyan said the hall tickets for the students would be available on the www.dge.tn.gov.in website from July 13 to 17. They can also get the downloaded hall tickets from their respective schools.
"Students can write exams in their own schools. The state government will arrange transport facilities for the students. The department will not set up exam centres in containment zones," he added.
