CHENNAI: The Madras high court has directed the state school education department to start Class XII board exams on Tuesday 30 minutes late in the morning as it would help parents and students get more time to reach exam centres.
"...the exam scheduled to be held on March 24...shall commence at 10.30 am and end by 1.30 pm. Candidates and students who are facing difficulty in reaching the destination can intimate the same to the respective headmasters who in consultation with educational authorities concerned for transportation shall make sure that the students and parents would reach the centres on time," a division bench of Justices M M Sundresh and Krishnan Ramaswamy said.
The bench also observed that any postponement of exams at this stage would have a spiralling effect.
It passed the orders on the PIL moved by advocate G Rajesh seeking to ensure adequate supply of masks and hand sanitisers.
