Control of State by Hindus is essential for sustenance of Dharma: MP Surya

BENGALURU: At a time when prime minister Narendra Modi called for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as a nation building exercise and an act of creating “vishwas” (trust) with “Sab Jagaha Ram, Sab mein Ram” (Everywhere lord Ram, in everyone lord Ram), Bengaluru south BJP member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya said control of State by Hindus was essential for sustenance of Dharma.

Known to create furore with his statements that suggest his hard right leanings, Surya on Wednesday took to twitter to impress upon his followers that only because the BJP had a complete majority the construction of Ram Mandir was possible. This, even as the Bhoomi Puja was ongoing in Ayodhya.
“Dear Hindus, Most important lesson is that control of State power by Hindus is absolutely essential for sustenance of Dharma. When we didn’t control the State, we lost our temple. When we regained it, we rebuilt. The 282 in 2014 & 303 in 2019 to Sri Narendra Modi made today possible!” he said.
The statement comes in the wake of another tweet he had posted on Tuesday, in response to the All India Personal Muslim Law Board of invoking the history of Hagia Sophia in Turkey.
His tweet read: “One shameful tweet has shown their true colours. That: 1. All talk of constitutionalism & respect for SC is mere hogwash 2. By invoking #HagiaSophia they admit no remorse for their coreligionist ancestors destroying #RamMandir in 1528 & that they would do it again, if possible.”
Surya’s twitter storm is a continuation of his previous statements like “Puncturewallahs” and “Arab women never having orgasms” .
