Def min staff, forces to contribute 500cr
Around Rs 500 crore will be contributed by the country’s defence establishment, including the armed forces, to the PM-Cares Fund in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday approved the proposal for contribution of one day’s salary by personnel under the defence ministry, which includes the around 15-lakh strong Army, Navy, IAF and Coast Guard as well as employees in DRDO and its 50 labs, five defence PSUs, four shipyards and 39 ordnance factories, among others.
