Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch
JAMMU: Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Poonch district on Wednesday morning, resorting to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling targeting forward Indian posts and border villages in the area. This is the third such breach of truce in the past 24 hours.
On Tuesday, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire twice along the LoC — first in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district around 7.30am followed by Poonch’s Balakote sector around 10pm.

Sharing details of Wednedsay’s violation, Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Around 9.30am, Pakistan initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms and shelled mortars along the LoC in Poonch’s Kirni and Degwar sectors. Indian troops retaliated effectively and no injury or damage has been suffered by own side.”
