Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch
JAMMU: Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday, resorting to unprovoked firing and shelling targeting forward Indian posts and civilian areas. Some houses were partially damaged and cattle injured in the cross-border fire exchange.
Around 7am, Pakistani troops initiated the breach of truce along the LoC in Poonch’s Krishna Ghati sector with small arms firing and heavy mortar shelling, to which the Indian Army effectively retaliated, Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.

Sources said the cross-border exchange of fire, which continued till 9.30am, partially damaged some houses of border residents. Poonch SSP Ramesh Angral confirmed that four buffaloes were injured in the skirmish.
