Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Rajouri
JAMMU: Pakistan on Tuesday violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and small arms firing, targeting forward Indian posts and border villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Rajouri district.
The breach of truce comes two days after Pak troops violated ceasefire along the LoC in Degwar sector of Poonch district on Sunday.
“Around 7.30am, Pakistan initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms and mortar shelling along the LoC in Rajouri’s Sunderbani sector.
Indian troops retaliated befittingly, and no injury or damage was suffered,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.
