Pakistan violates ceasefire in Rajouri

Pakistan violates ceasefire in Rajouri
JAMMU: Pakistan breached the truce on Sunday evening and resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K’s Rajouri district.
“Around 7pm, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by firing with small arms and mortar shelling along the LoC in Rajouri’s Nowshera sector. The Indian Army retaliated effectively,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said.
There has been no let-up in these cross-border fire exchanges with Pakistan repeatedly targeting forward posts and civilian areas along the LoC in the twin frontier districts of Poonch (Qasba, Krishna Ghati, Balakote, Mankote, Mendhar, and Kirni sectors) and Rajouri (Sunderbani and Nowshera sectors) since August 4.
