'Will do more Surya Namaskar': PM Narendra Modi's jibe at Rahul Gandhi's 'danda' remark

"I heard an opposition MP saying — youth will beat Modi with sticks in six months. I have also decided — will do more Surya Namaskar. This will make my back even stronger to face abuses. In any case, I have been abused so much for the last 2 decades that I have become gaali-proof..." said PM Modi in the Lok Sabha taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi's "danda" remark.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi's "danda" remark, saying that ever since the Congress leader's remark, he has increased the frequency of doing 'Surya Namaskar' to deal with the assault
"I heard an opposition MP saying — youth will beat Modi with sticks in six months. I have also decided — will do more Surya Namaskar. This will make my back even stronger to face abuses.
In any case, I have been abused so much for the last 2 decades that I have become gaali-proof. Their negativity hardly matters," PM Modi said while speaking during the ongoing discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President's address in Lok Sabha.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stood up and attempted to interject as soon as Modi ended this part of his speech, however, what he said could not be heard due to uproar in the Parliament.
"I was speaking for 30-40 minutes now, but the current has reached there now", PM Modi quipped while gesturing at the Congress leader to sit down.
"Some tubelights work like this," he added. Thereafter, Prime Minister continued to speak about skill development, digital economy, CAA and other issues.
The Prime Minister's response came a day after Rahul warned that the youth of this country will "beat PM with sticks" over his failure to create jobs in the country.

"The PM won't be able to come out of his home. The youth of this country will beat him up with sticks and will make him understand that this country can't progress without providing jobs to the youth," Rahul had said on Wednesday during a rally in Delhi.
