Bantwal, Nov 30: A gang attacked Ira gram panchayat president Razak Kukkaje with deadly weapons at Manchi here on Saturday night, November 30.

Razak had come to Shafi clinic in Manchikatte, Manchi village, as he was not keeping well. It is said that three men who came by bike meanwhile entered Shafi clinic and attacked him with deadly weapons. However, the gang who saw people around, fled from the spot.

Razak suffered injury on his hand. He was taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru. He is said to be out of danger.

Curious people gathered at the spot. It is said that the assault is the result of dispute relating to mosque and personal enmity.
