Coronavirus: Karnataka registers second death, India's death toll reaches 13

Bengaluru, Mar 26: Health minister Sriramulu confirmed that the woman from Gauribidanoor in the district of Chikkaballapur died from coronavirus.

The deceased 70-year-old woman, a native of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh had returned after pilgrimage to Mecca and was in home quarantine in her son's house. She got admitted to the district hospital because of breathing difficulties on Tuesday. Later she was taken to Rajiv Gandhi hospital in Bengaluru for higher treatment. However, the woman succumbed to the infection on late night.

Giving details of the case, Chikkaballapur deputy commissioner R Latha said, "The deceased woman was in home quarantine in her son's house after returning from Mecca pilgrimage. She was suffering from BP also. In addition, she had some injury on her leg also. Along with these, she also had heart complications. She was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday for breathing difficulties."
