BJP promotes Make in India, but buys from China: Rahul

New Delhi, Jun 30 (IANS): Amid the growing demand to boycott Chinese products in the wake of India-China stand-off, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious programme -- Make in India, saying imports from China after 2014 have actually increased.

"Facts don't lie. BJP says: Make in India. BJP does: Buy from China," Rahul Gandhi said in a sharp tweet attaching a graphics of the percentage of imports from China during the UPA rule and the NDA government.

The graphics showed that from 2008 to 2014, the imports from China were below 14 per cent, while during the BJP-led NDA rule, the Chinese import increased to over 18 per cent.

The graphics also depicted that in 2008 under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the imports from China were at 12 per cent while it rose to 14 per cent in 2012 but again came down to 13 per cent in 2014.

While under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the imports from China grew from 13 per cent to 14 per cent in 2015, to 16 per cent in 2016, to 17 per cent in 2017 and to 18 per cent in 2018, the graphics attached by Rahul Gandhi showed.

BJP demoted Make in India by importing major products from China BUT PUBLICITY IS ONLY MAKE IN INDIA???

India can't sustain without importing from China until India manufacture those products in INDIA and also can't compete with China for the price and cheap labour and techology!!!

BLIND BJP supporters believe what their leaders say and don't understand ECONOMICS & EONOMY for RSS & Political affiliations. Members do not have guts to say what is required so what has been dictated by leaders they follow without verifying right or wrong!!!???

Most of the BJP leaders are not highly qualified and meagre knowledge of economy & politics except good in defending the leaders whatever they say narrow mindedly.

QUALIFIED & WISE PEOPLE OF INDIA MUST UNITE FOR THE BETTER OF THE COUNTRY IN FRAMING BETTER POLICY IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR RELIGIOUS COMPULSIONS AND SUPPORT THE CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT AT STATE LEVEL SOONER THAN LATER FOR THE GOOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE. UNITED POLICIES ARE BETTER THAN UNILATERAL DICATATED POLICIES!!!

Your blind hatred towards BJP is not going to harm to BJP or Modiji as long as true Indians who support him. Your reason for this hatred is that he is not the one who believes in appeasement for the sake of votes. You and others like you need to get of your misplaced priorities and get into the mainstream. Your definition of "qualified" people seem to mean only those who have somehow got hold of some certificate.I am sure you didn't have any problem when the country was ruled by remote by an individual with absolute power without accountability for ten years. One thing you and your ilk should keep in mind is that people who read such comments understand what exactly is the reason for your frustration.

You and your dynasty rule are responsible for the condition of India today which made us dependable on Chinese goods. You and your family never wanted to see India prosper and become a superpower. You are scared of educated young youth as you are aware your chamchagiri won't work with them.

The BJP's 'Make In India' is 2011 Congress government 'National Manufacturing Policy' scheme renamed and repackaged.
The 'Make in India' is itself wrong policy of the BJP governance. It ask the foreign company to establish using Indian land on cheap price using Indian man power paying peanut and take away maximum profit share.
This is the new generation of the Jan Sangh who betrayed Mahatma Gandhi are ruling dispensation who refuse to join 'Boycott' movement has laid the red carpet for new colonialism in India.

The Congress leader is not wrong. When the BJP bans Chinese app the Union shipping minister Nitin Gadkari has written to the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal, urging them to remove roadblocks to facilitate the quick release of Chinese goods stuck at Indian ports.

The minister has recently twitted "I am among the strongest proponents of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Anyone who is even slightly acquainted with me would know about my passion and work towards supporting as well as encouraging Make in India."-1:49 AM · Jun 28, 2020

Now says "The delay in the passage of these imported goods will hit India, not China."

    1. When it the BJP is going cancel the major contract awarded Chinese in strategic sector of Defense, telecommunication and infrastructure?
    2. Why is BJP is not asking more than 50 start up companies like 'Pay TM' to withdraw the Chinese investment?
    3. Under which NGO act 'Observer Research Foundation' and 'Vivekananda International Foundation' is receiving donation from China?
    4. Where did 'India Foundation' get its donations?

Sardar Patel 3,000 crore statue and numerous joint venture projects in Gujarat and imports from the rogue country. Why not our PM use his maturity and genius brains when dealing with our worst enemy country. It is known that during the past 8 years he visited China more than sixteen times in connection with mutual business promotions !
