Kaup, Aug 29: "Vinay Kumar Sorake, former minister and MLA has made an impression in the hearts and minds of people as the messenger of development. Though he is not in power at present, he keeps on roaming in his constituency day and night. His working style is a model to other politicians," said former chief whip and MLC Ivan D'Souza.

Ivan was speaking at the meeting of the Rural Congress committee workers of Mudarangadi. He further said, "It is common to see people representatives among the public when they are in power. There are very few leaders who reciprocate to the needs of the people even when they are not in power. The working style of Vinaya Kumar Sorake is laudable and a role model for others. He is the messenger of the development of Kaup legislative constituency. He will get elected in the next assembly elections and serve the people of this constituency much more."

After handing over the PPE kits under the Arogya Hastha programme of Congress, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, "The BJP government has completely failed in controlling the coronavirus pandemic. It seems that it is looting the public. The government, which is involved in scams in the purchase of medical equipment for coronavirus treatment and the loot that is taking place in hospitals, is not showing any concern towards the people of Karnataka. It seems that the ruling BJP government itself is in quarantine."

"We have to seek votes from the public in the coming gram panchayat elections highlighting the failures of the ruling BJP government. Also, we have to bring to the notice of the people the development works that have taken place during the tenure of Congress party," added Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Speaking in the meeting, KPCC secretary, Deviprasad Shetty Belapu said, "During the tenure of Vinay Kumar Sorake and Ivan D'Souza, a considerable amount of grant was released to Mudarangadi gram panchayat due to which developmental works have taken place more than expected."

Block Congress president, Naveenchandra Suvarna, former gram panchayat president, David D'Souza, taluk panchayat member, Michael D'Souza, Block women Congress president, Prabha B Shetty, block chief secretary, Ameer Mohammed, eminent personalities like Somanath, Balachandra Shetty, Riyaz, Walter, former members of the gram panchayat and workers were present at the meeting.
